I wonder about depth of the needs of different firms who come for placements in campuses. I need them of course, but do they really need me? What a stupid question, that is why they are here in the campus. That is what is taught in HR classes in B-Schools.
It is like a marriage in the country where sex ratio(male:female) is 300:46. The worst part of this “Swayamvar” is Group discussion. How can you judge a person based on the 10min fight of words. Hollow words, some are backed with facts, rest all with imagination.
I read in one book, 85% attitude and 15% academics contribute towards 100% success. Problem: Firms take into consideration 100% academics records, grades, marks. It forms the basis of the cut off!
We have been taught to be soft-spoken. Even if the person in front of you is shouting, yelling, fighting etc. I don’t like to raise my voice unless and untill it is very much necessary. How am I suppose to put my views when people are getting on each others’ nerves. It is better to be an audience and think about the desperation and immaturity displayed.
You lie with confidence in your selection process and becomes the liability to the firm. You complain about the work culture after 6 months of your joining. Who is the bigger loser here? The firm who hired you, or you,who have taken that job?
Whatever the issue is, in the end, you need to prove yourself. If you do that, you are very close to your materialistic success.
All the best!
