The day after republic day was memorable. It started with Mile Sur Mera tumhara and ended with iPAD getting launched. In both the cases I was disappointed!
India is a diverse country with many states, languages, cultures etc. It is like Europe. And the variety is at its max. This does not mean that the video should be endless! If you are reducing the time, you are not restricting any culture to express!
This song is unsuccessfully TRYING to kill the old song while successfully committing suicide!
The song, I feel, is about togetherness. It is about unity expressed in the form of ‘sur banne HAMARA’. The song seemed to be in bits and pieces. Everybody was singing their own tune in their own language separated by pauses in between. In the times of MNS and Telangana, its time to show the world that we are still united!
As one my friend Ms.Suruchi expressed:- Where is Mr.Sachin R. Tendulkar in the song? Does he not deserve to be in there in the place of Shahrukh or Aamir who has been just acting out there, spreading hands! I know they are the highest tax payers of the country and contributes in the growth! But still, I think Sachin deserves to be in there! As a kid I was most attracted towards Kapil Dev running in the older version than Amitabh singing! (btw, I liked the Salman Khan part of the song, good concept).
Even the foreigners will love the older version of the song. So simple, that is how India is!
The song has no soul. The soul was working hard day and night to earn his/her daily bread. The soul was in the older version sitting on the elephant. The common man! As usual lost in the glamor of fake actors and celebrities! So actually, this is a good song right? why?
It reflects the rich urban culture of India ignoring the other side!
There is no place for common man!
There is no place for honest hardworking sports personalities!
There is no connection between the culture as they are moving apart!
Good work and Hats off for taking pains to reflect the real picture of India!
The old song was about Bharat, this song reflects today’s India – Karthik (My SIMSR friend)
Indeed, this one LINE describes everything about the difference between the two songs!
