The Bestseller She Wrote – Ravi Subramanian & the casting ouch!

My Short Review:-

392 pages.

If you write any story with the protagonist as a Banker, extra marital affair with colleague & reference to some recent incident based on real life (Ebola in this case), it will be a Ravi Subramanian book.

Aditya’s character’s heavy influence of Chetan Bhagat, Anurag Kashyap’s casual mention, Police commissioner’s role, & functionality of iPhone (last time it was iCloud) are disappointing.

Book is fast paced, as always.

A glimpse into the book:-

Paperback King, Aditya Kapoor, seems to have it all. Not only is he India s hottest and bestselling author, his enormous stardom is perfectly balanced by a lovely home, a loving wife and a stable career in banking. With everything he touches turning to gold, Aditya is on a winning streak. Shreya Kaushik is a student with a heart full of big dreams. Young, beautiful, and ambitious, Shreya speaks her mind and knows what she wants.

What happens when their worlds collide? Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Can ambition come in the way of passion?

The Bestseller… She Wrote is a story of illicit love, destructive jealousy and overriding ambition. As master story-teller Ravi Subramanian delves into the world of publishing and explores an unlikely romance between a bestselling author and his nubile protégé, faces will be unmasked and truths will be revealed. Sit tight and read on… (-Amazon)

The Casting Ouch:-

Farhan Akhtar as Aditya Kapoor

  • I have changed it from Irrfan to Farhan at the last moment due to the background of the character. I think Farhan can do justice to this, as he is the perfect blend of urban, creative & commercial personality.

Alia Bhatt as Shreya Kaushik

  • It has to be Alia, for the first time in a negative role.
  • IIM history

Nimrat Kaur as Maya Kapoor

  • If not her, then this character wont be a memorable one.
  • It this movie was made 10 years back, it would have been Tabu.
  • I also suggest to have a flash back to emphasize on the passionate love story

Rajat Kapoor as Sanjay

  • This guy looks like an HR from top to bottom
  • Polished, and would play the character well.

Rashmi Bansal as Vaishali (Debut)

  • This is completely out of the box, but could be a game changer.

Anurag Kashyap as Anurag Kashyap

Director: Madhur Bhandarkar

  • Who will do it better when it comes down to exposing a particular industry?

I understand that Mr. Siddharth Malhotra is already working on this project.
