Confess by Colleen Hoover & The Casting Ouch

Colleen Hoover

My Short Review:-

306 Pages.

This book is ‘Goodreads Choice 2015 Winner’

I found this book very annoying. Owen’s character is well developed (with the concept of confession artist), but completely wasted. Auburn is average. There is lack of chemistry between the two. Loved the artwork (Owen’s paintings)

A glimpse into the book:-

Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin – (From Goodreads)

Bollywood Casting Ouch:-

Yami Gautam as Auburn Reed

  • She would definitely be available.
  • Link up with Ranveer Singh would give a boost to the promotion of the film.
  • She is obsessed with fairness & colours.

Ranveer Singh as Owen Gentry

  • He as experience in playing an artist in ‘Lootera’. The last leaf got this for him.
  • Assuming if the movie is released in 2018, that would be the perfect timing for the rumours of break up with Deepika Padukone

Boman Irani as Owen’s Father

  • I was considering ‘Padma Shree’ Anupam Kher first (assuming he would be cheap). He made the following demands when I approached him:-
    • Showcase the works of ‘Modi’, as the film would be releasing in 2018, just before the Elections
    • Owen’s paintings should be on Indian culture with no freedom of expression. Confessions would be censored.
    • Auburn’s character should be a Kashmiri Pandit.
  • Boman Irani laughed hysterically when he came to know about the reason why Anupam Kher was not considered. He is doing the film for free.

Shahid Kapoor as Adam (Special Appearance)

  • I want to see him dead in more films. Fair enough ?

Director: Vikramaditya Motwane

  • This film has no story, and only he can make it interesting
  • It would be easy to get Ranveer on board

Open Letter to NDTV for Movie Review of ‘Baby’

Dear NDTV Movie Review Team,

This is with reference to your movie review of Baby (2015)

The movie has attracted 2 stars out of 5.

If we want to consider religion in reviewing the movie and If we assume you are the most secular (and hence unpaid) media of the lot, then also it does not make any sense because of the following reasons:-

1. Baby is not an anti-Muslim movie or even anti-Pakistan movie. It is shown that the terrorists are there on both the sides.

2. The head of the Indian secret agency is played by Danny Denzongpa as Feroze Ali Khan.

3. There is also a mention of Hindu extremism in Gujarat riots.

So lets take religion out from the review (and hence lets also ignore your generous 5 star rating to PK)

The movie is entertaining & has no songs. All the actors have done a good(if not the best) job. Script is not exceptionally brilliant as ‘A Wednesday’ but manages to keep the audience curious.

You may have your own evaluation of movies and you have all rights to express it. I am not a fan of Akshay Kumar to justify this. Let us assume that your rating is justified.

However, I really wonder what made you give 2.5 stars to Kick (Salman Khan) or 3 stars to Players (Abhishek Bacchan, Boby Deol, Sonam Kapoor etc). How were they successful in earning your 0.5 or 1 star?

There are many such examples listed below.

1. Kick (Salman Khan) -> 2.5 Stars

2. Main Tera Heo -> 2.5 Stars

3. Dhoom 3 -> 3 Stars (Aamir Khan fans can ignore this)

4. Bullet Raja -> 4 Stars (Though the Director has made good movies, but 4 stars for this? )

5. Besharam -> 2.5 Stars (Really? )

6. Rabba Mein Kya Karu -> 3 Stars (Why ?)

7. Shortcut Romeo -> 3 Stars

8. Nautanki Sala -> 3 Stars

9. Jayantabhai ki Luv Story -> 2.5 Stars

10. Rush (Emran Hashmi) -> 3 Stars

11. Ek Tha Tiger -> 3.5 Stars (Similar story line. What made you give this? )

12. Tezz (Anil Kapoor) -> 3 Stars

13. Bitto Boss -> 3 Stars

14. Houseful 2 -> 3 Stars

15. Agent Vinod -> 3.5 Stars (This is a joke right? )

16. Players (Abhishek Bacchan, Bobby Deol) -> 3 Stars

17. Ra.One -> 3 Stars (SRK fans can ignore this)

18. Yamla Pagla Deewana -> 2.5 Stars (Some may not agree on this)

Eagerly waiting for your reply

Warm Regards,

Karthik Calling Karthik – Trailer

Lahore – Trailer

The movie talks about sports used as a medium to bring the two brothers together. Sports and Music are the passion that we share! The movie is awesome, not because of the awards it has already won, but because of the timing. It will be released when Aman Ki Asha is in the air.

LAHORE is a compelling tale set against the backdrop of competitive sports on the international arena. The story revolves around the potentially portentous lives of two brothers from Rajasthan. When fate takes them on a convoluted path that challenges the bedrock of all that they believe to be good and decent in human behavior, life-changing choices have to be made that will bring either sorrow or absolution. Deep emotions are evident in the movie when interactions between citizens of two nations, which fought three wars, are shown.(

Inside The Black Hole

So a game of kick boxing eh? Who is gonna win? India? Pakistan? Indians and Pakistanis will watch it for sure. Some may like it, few may hate it. If it talks about peace, it will be used as a tool to spread peace. Why not? Anything that can be done to improve the relationship should be done. So, talking of the winner. I think both the countrymen will take out their hard-earned money to watch this movie and to witness the winner. No the winner is not India, not even Pakistan. No, winner is not even the game of kickboxing. No, not even “peace” or “friendship”. THE WINNER IS GONNA BE HOLLYWOOD! Yes, It’s a Warner Bros. production! Long live Hollywood! Long live USA! 🙂

Making of Pizza – 3 Idiots!

Not just this, the induction motor joke, the pencil in the space joke, I dunno about you, but I got all these jokes in emails or SMSes. I am sure the creative writing team of 3idiots brought all such mails together like the pizza toppings, put it on the base made by Mr. Chetan Bhagat, branded it with Aamir Khan, increased the temperature by putting hot female actor and delivered it to the audience! Now, the pizza is making a business worth crores of rupees all over!

Yes, many things were original in the film. But as it is known, people only see what is wrong. Still, movie is doing well, so nobody is bothered about it. Aal izz well!

Teen Patti

Teen Patti brings together a world renowned mathematician Perci Tratchtenberg (Ben Kingsley) and Venkat (Amitabh Bachchan), a brilliant mathematician from India.

At a casino in London, the two geniuses meet. Venkat ignites Perci’s curiosity when he reveals that he has come across a theory that questions the existing principles of probability and randomness.

He decides to apply this discovery in the real world on Teen Patti (a poker game). Along with Shantanu (Madhavan), Sid (Siddharth Kher), Bikram (Dhruv Ganesh), Abbas (Vaibhav Talwar) and Aparna (Shraddha Kapoor) – he hits the gambling dens in Mumbai.

But brilliance comes with a price that threatens to destroy him.
